Month at a Glance - SafarBy Dr. Raza Dungersi Safar is the second Islamic month. It is a common belief that this month is associated with calamities. First and foremost, it is on the 28th day of this month in 11 A.H. that our Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, left this world for the hereafter. The world was thus deprived of the source of Divine Mercy-RAHMATAN LIL AALAMEEN. Over all above that, two other Masoomeen, our second Imam and our Eighth Imam were martyred in this month: Imam Hasan (a.s) was martyred on the 7th or the 28th day of Safar and Imam Reza (a.s) was martyred on the 17th or the 29th of this month, in the years 50 A.H. and 203 A.H. respectively. |
”One who encourages anyone to righteousness will be rewarded as if he himself has acted upon it.” The Imam further elaborated on the subject that ”one who has been taught by someone, in turn teaches someone else, and then he and the original teacher both will be rewarded and if the teacher dies, he will continue to be rewarded for the good deeds of his disciples." - Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (AS)
