Jamadi al-Akher is the sixth Islamic month. This month is renowned for two very important events, one jubilant another somber. Ironically, both events pertain to one most illustrious personality: Hadhrat Fatima Zahra, peace be upon her and her pure progeny, the Ahlul Bayt.

Hadhrat Fatima, was born in Mecca, on the 20th day of the month of Jamadi al-Akher, five years after the Prophet had proclaimed his Prophethood.. She tragically passed away from this world,at the prime age of 18, in Medina,on the 3rd day of the month of Jamadi al-Akher 11A.H., ninety days after the passing away of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his pure progeny.

The 3rd of this month, therefore, is one of the most tragic days on the Islamic calendar. Those with any affiliation with the family of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, need to commemorate this day with "AZA" and ziyarat of Hadhrat Fatima. By the same token, they need to welcome the 20th of this month with legitimate celebration in the form of gatherings to remind themselves of the bounties that Allah has made available to them for the sake of Prophet Muhammad and his pure Ahlul Bayt, peace be upon them all.

On both occasions, we need to seek forgiveness, for our past sins, and ask Allah to fulfill our legitimate desires for the sake of Hadhrat Fatima, peace be upon her and her pure family.
