This is the 4th Islamic Month and probably with a few historic events. The most significant day is the tenth of this month; for our Eleventh Imam, Hazrat Imam Hasan al- Askari (A.S.) was born on the 10th of this month in the year 232 in Medina.
It behooves the followers of Ahlul Bayt to observe this day with felicitation. It is highly recommended that fast be observed on this day.
This year, NAWROZ falls in the month of Rabee' al-Akher. Moala, son of Khunays quotes Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (A.S.) who told him that the Day of Nawroz is a sanctified day on which several events took place; such events include- The Prophets first Meraj took place on the day of Nawroz
- The Day the Prophet carried Imam Ali (a.s.) on his shoulder to clear the Kaaba of idols was on the day of Nawroz
- The Day of Ghadeer, when the Prophet (s w a w ) on his return journey from Haj, declared Imam Ali(a s ) as his sucsessor, was on the day of Nawroz
- It will be on the day of Nawroz that the Imam of our time, Hazrat Mehdi, will defeat Satan and end this source of evill forever
Among acts recommended on the day of Nawroz include having "ghusl" and observing fast. There is a special amal recommended on this day, details can be seen in Mafatihul Jeenan.
May Allah enable us all to observe the day of Nawroz in the best way as recommended by Masoom Imams.
